What is a double breasted suit?
A double breasted suit is style of suit that comprises a double breasted jacket combined with matching slacks. The double breasted style refers to the way the front of the jacket wraps across the front of the wearer. They generally have either 4 or 6 buttons in two rows on each side of the jacket. The buttons actually add a certain extra bit of style just by the way they are laid out. The suit originally was developed by an English Tailor named Frederick Scholte. It was a suit that was quickly noticed by the Prince of Wales and made popular by him.
